Benedict James: Month Four

Your dad and I used to say with Cana every month "wow can you believe how fast time has gone? She's already ___ months old!" But the other day we thought about how you're four months old now and it blew our minds that that's all it's been. It feels like we've known you forever, how could you possibly only be four months old? But that's you, buddy. You're a special little guy and you've become such a huge part of our family, we can't even remember life without you.

Here are my favorite memories of month four:

• You officially sleep swaddle free all the time
• You nap for about 45 minutes at a time and like to fall asleep while wrapped.
• You sleep 12-13 hours at night and don't really ever wake up! But you nurse in your sleep 1-3 times a night. Yay for side lying nursing! 
• You took your first bottle but you still don't love the idea of it
• mom and dad went on our first date to the movies while sir papa watched you and cana slept over at MJ's house. Apparently you cried almost the entire time... way to go buddy. 
• You're much more into mommy than anyone else, especially when you're sleeping. This makes it hard for me to work in the early hours of the day...
• You found your feet and love to hold them! 
• You can roll!!! Back to belly and belly to back! 
• You can sit unassisted for about half a minute, as long as you don't get distracted! 
• You officially react bad to dairy. You get a slight rash on your face and have horrible belly aches from gas. So I've cut dairy from my diet. 
• You gained a godbrother! I hope you and Aloysius will be the best pals! 
• We spent a lot of time with Mason and other family this month! You boys are getting so big! 
• Daddy officially started school again and we are so bummed summer is over, but it was one of the best ever! 
• You push up with your arms while on your belly and push with your feet and knees like an inch worm. I think crawling is in your near future! 
• You love to chew and suck on blankets. 
• You use your pacifier only to fall asleep for nap time. Once you're asleep you spit it out. 
• You seem so much older than four months. You're giant and strong and closer to a folder than a newborn! 
• We thought you'd have tons of nicknames and never be called Benedict, but surprisingly that's almost all we ever call you! You get the occasional Benny, bubba, and Benoit still, but you're Benedict the most! Oh and Auntie Megan still calls you Eggsy. Lol
  -you play with toys more than any other baby I've ever met! Like you actually play! It's wonderful!
